Let's face it, as a parent, looking at online games, my preference is to find games online for free and that are safe. Of course, the internet has games galore, from the very basic to the adventure genre. The more complex the game, the more likely it will hit your pocket book at some point.

I don't have an issue with the designers of these games getting compensated for their time; I simply want parents to be aware that free doesn't normally stay free.

Wizard 101 Free to Start

I know one of the many online games that kids seem to adore, is Wizard 101. I personally don't "get it," since I don't see the thrill in decorating a house with statues, plants and the like. It's certainly a hit with children all over the world. Kids are playing and calling each other to "meet up" so they can explore together and show off the things they have acquired and have used to decorate their house. Of course, there are also battles where you use different spell cards to defeat the bad guy. In my own case, my son can extol for hours the thrill and virtues of the game.
